Wartburg
Castle
Wartburg Castle is the second most-visited tourist attraction in Thuringia after Weimar. Although it was originally built in the Middle Ages, much of today's interior dates back only to the 19th century. In 1999, UNESCO added Wartburg Castle to the World Heritage List.

The Wartburg is a castle originally built in the Middle Ages. At an elevation of 410 metres (1,350 ft) in the state of Thuringia, Germany, it is situated on a southwest-facing precipice and overlooks the town of Eisenach to the north.
