Ourense é capital da provincia de Ourense e da súa comarca homónima. É a 3ª cidade máis poboada de Galicia con 107.542 h. (IGE-2013). É coñecida como "A cidade das Burgas" debido á sona das súas fontes de augas termais. Destaca a Catedral de Ourense, Pórtico do Paraíso, Santo Cristo e a Ponte Romana
