1749 yılında inşa edilen kulenin yüksekliği 85 metredir. Başlangıçta ahşap olarak inşa edilen ve 1756 ile 1826 yıllarında yanan kule, üçünçü kez Sultan II.Mahmut zamanında, 1828 yılında Senekerim Balyan'ın mimarlığı altında tekrar yapıldı.
